According to this legend, Hercules fought against Geryon , a king from Troy . Hercules, who had been pursuing him since Cadiz , found him in the Coruña peninsula and had a cruel fight with him, from which Hercules emerged victorious, decapitating the defeated Geryon on a small peninsula full of large stones, next to the sea. In honour of the defeated enemy, he built the famous Tower, which has appeared on the coat of arms of La Coruña since 1521. 50
